Why
do it?
FYM students
rave about three things in
particular:
-
Community: "We love the
sense of community that we form
together as we share life."
-
Ministry: "We love
being able to develop our own
ministry and reach out to the
poor and hopeless."
-
Discipleship: "We love
the way the AIM staff pour into
us and disciple us."
Students call
their team the FYM Fam (pronounced "Fim
fam") because they develop a
close-knit feeling of family in the
course of a year. Each team of up to
12 students lives in homes in
proximity to the needy and
destitute. They develop life-long
friendships and enough stories to
fill a stack of journals.
All
FYM students have the opportunity to
view dozens of ministries and then
choose to work with one about 15
hours a week. You might choose to
help start a children's ministry,
work on the street with addicts, or
minister to youth through a local
church.
AIM staff are
some of the best disciplers
anywhere. They are motivated to
invest in young people and help them
walk like Jesus did. Family leaders
go through intensive training and
coaching themselves. They live life
with the FYM Fam and are available
to them 24/7.
The net
result is an awesome year. Just

to go and what they like best!!
